Biography

Born in Athens, Greece; admitted 2000, Athens; authorized to appear before all Greek Courts, of all instances.

Nick specialises as an expert litigator in private insurance law, capital markets, intellectual property, unfair competition, real estate, civil liability, contracts (franchising, leasing & factoring) handling complex contentious matters. Further expertise in national and international transport law (road, air, rail, sea) as well as in fire and motor accident cases.

He has been engaged in multiple litigations involving the shipwrecks of the Dystos and the Iron Antonis; Claims for D&O liability under a systemic bank’s BBB insurance policy; a series of approx. 400 trials on behalf of pharmaceuticals and a diagnostics corporation; numerous litigation cases concerning recovery of the clients’ claims against debtors. He has also on several occasions appeared as expert witness in litigation before English courts.

Nick also provides legal advice with respect to insurance policies and their compliance with Greek law, as well as with general commercial agreements, while also being active member in the Rokas team proceeding with legal due diligence projects.

His indicative experience includes:

  • Insurance law: Drafting and localisation of insurance contracts in life and non-life insurance; out- of- court and judicial settlement of damages and claims. He specializes in handling cases concerning national and international transports, cases concerning damages from fire and also cases on car accidents and respective insurance claims.
  • Contract law: Litigation and advisory practice in franchising, leasing & factoring contracts, provision of collateral, disruption of contracts (interpretation, negotiation, litigation).
  • Real estate: He has been involved in numerous cases concerning sales, auctions, tenancy, prenotations of mortgage and mortgages on real estate properties.
  • Securities (negotiable instruments): issuance of judicial orders for payment based on securities, and enforcement; represented clients in criminal procedures on the basis of securities laws.
