Many cases which would in other countries resolve themselves in the civil or administrative courts, end in the Greek criminal courts.

Libel and other forms of personal and trade defamation, as well as perjury, are often brought in the criminal courts simultaneously with civil claims.

Litigants will often also resort to the criminal courts in relation to industrial accidents, as well as insolvency-related claims for State debts. Criminal litigation experience is therefore frequently needed even in apparently commercial disputes.

The criminal department of the firm has been actively operating since 1990 and undertakes cases in all specialties of criminal law (including homicide, narcotics, sexual crimes), but its principal focus on economic crimes, particularly insurance fraud and crimes against insurance companies, banks and companies in both the private and public sector.

Such crimes include fraud, embezzlement, theft, forgery and perjury, amongst others.
